Kia ora,
You know what I’m going to say: Happy New Year! I hope you had a good break over Christmas. My break was a bit chaotic 😅 Lots of house projects, garden work, a couple of walks, and a bike ride that sent me over the handlebars. I survived, and somehow want to do more bike rides!

I’m usually not one for trends, but I’ve seen a few people talk about what they’re leaving behind in 2024 and I like this one. So, I’m leaving behind my bike. I know I just said I want to do more bike rides, but my current one is just too tall and I can’t lower the seat any more. It also has me leaning too far forward , if that makes sense? And that puts too much pressure on my wrists. So I’ve got it cleaned up and ready to list on TradeMe, and I’m on the hunt for a new ebike. If you have any recommendations for more lounge-like bikes, do let me know.
And here’s what I’m bringing into 2025: more editing services to help travel and adventure writers get their books out there. The big one is out now: manuscript evaluations. My goal with the manuscript evaluation is to give you feedback on your overall story before you start revising the nitty-gritty details.
You’ll get pointers on what’s working and where your story is already engaging. And you’ll also get pointers on where you can go deeper with aspects like descriptions, thoughts, reactions, and flashbacks. It’s like getting reader feedback but from someone you can trust to not tear you down (and has lots of experience working with writers).
Because this is a new service, I have introductory rates, too. Bonus! Check it out!
What about you? What are you leaving behind in 2024 and bringing into 2025? Do you have writing goals or travelling goals? Let me know 😀
Until next time.
Cheers,
Deborah
