Books & Islands in Ojibwe Country, by Louise Erdrich

Beautiful writing, just beautiful.

Hadrian’s Wall, by Adrian Goldsworthy

Got me wanting to walk the wall one day!

The Camino for the Rest of Us, by Tim Mathis

Thoughtful reflections on what pilgrimage means in the twenty-first century. And it go me wanting to walk the Camino one day!

The Cold Inside: A Story about Mountains, Friendship and Doubt, by Paul Hersey

A gorgeous dip into the mountaineer’s mind.

An Eastern Tailwind, by Jack Few

A delightful account of an epic cycle trip through India.

A Wild Moose Chase, by Ken Tustin

I’m not saying I don’t think there are still moose in Fiordland, but maybe there’s something there?

Everest, Inc.: The Renegades and Rogues Who Built an Industry at the Top of the World, by Will Cockrell

Super book about the Everest industry. It connected a bunch of names I’ve read about over the years, and a lot of Kiwis, too. Fascinating.

The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon, by David Grann

Couldn’t put this book down. I raced through it. Perfect blend of history and narrative journalism. Pairs well with this episode from the Ancients podcast: The Ancient Amazon.

To give you a sneak peak into what I’m reading in 2025, I have just finished Lebanon Days, by Theodore Ell. And I’ve started Around the World in 80 Years, by Ranulph Fiennes.

Happy reading!

PS. I read more than just travel and adventure. My curiosity wanders all over the place. Check out my LinkedIn post for the full list of what I read in 2024.
