Kia ora,
I missed writing last week’s email. I was on a tight deadline for my current edit, but it’s under control and I’m back in action.
This week I want to give you three tips for your adventure writing.
Do get help with your self-publishing project. You don’t have to do it all yourself. Editors, designers, and marketers can all help give your book that professional touch.
Do get your book proofread. Yes, it can be an additional cost but it will boost the quality of your book so much. Little typos can be missed (editors are human), and layout gone funky can distract readers.
Do celebrate your achievements! Writing a book is bloody hard work. Whether you’re still in the writing stage, the editing and revision stage, or putting the final touches on your manuscript, give yourself a pat on the back. You’re doing great work.
Need help with any of these? Feel free to reply. Yep, even for that last point – I want to celebrate your achievements with you!
Cheers,
Deborah
PS. I wanted to have my next blog post up for you last week, but that deadline took up all my brain space. I’ll have it up soon and will link to it next week. It’s all about working flashbacks into your story in a seamless way.
PPS. The Banff Book Festival has opened entries to its book competition. Whoo hoo!
📚 What I’m reading
Around the World in 80 Years, by Ranulph Fiennes.
I got my library books under control and I’m back to Ranulph. I’ve got three chapters left!! Next week there WILL be a new book here. Tune in to find out what it is – I’m super excited for it!
