Kia ora,
I have been working on a resource for writers, one that I hope will give your book a valuable boost without stretching your budget.
It’s called the Proofreading Checklist. It’s a checklist, yes, but it’s more than that.
I walk you through the proofreading process, what it is, what it’s not, what to look for on your laid out pages, and how to mark up changes. It’s even got videos that show you what to look for and examples from published books.
The whole guide is 14 pages, and the checklist itself is 6 pages. I’ve included everything I check when I’m proofreading a book, so you’re getting all my professional proofreading experience in one place.
It’s still in the testing phase, and that’s where you come in.
If you’re nearing the end of the publishing process and you want to make sure you’ve caught as many typos and issues as possible, reply! I’ll share the checklist with you for free in return for feedback on your experience using it.
Doesn’t matter if we’ve worked together or not – if you have a book close to publishing, get in touch.
Not sure where proofreading fits into the whole publishing process? Check out this guide.
And here are some extra proofreading tips that complement the Proofreading Checklist.
Cheers,
Deborah
PS. I’ll be in Wanaka for the Mountain Film and Book Festival this Sunday and Monday (22-23 June). Are you going? Want to meet up? Reply and let’s grab coffee and talk the outdoors and books!
PPS. Happy winter solstice and Matariki to my fellow Kiwis!
