Kia ora,
I’ve been feeling adrift since leaving Instagram earlier this year. I miss seeing what adventures people have been going on and the writing updates that people share.
I want to feel that connection again, so can you help me out? Which socials are you hanging out on? Is it Insta still? Threads, Bluesky? LinkedIn, maybe?? A specific coffee shop that makes delicious peanut butter cups?
I’d also love to know what outdoorsy newsletters you subscribe to. Tim Mathis writes about his books and trips, and his newsletter is one of my favourites. As is Jeremy Bassetti’s Genius Loci newsletter; it dips into the philosophical side of being out there. Love it. What are your favourites?
Thank you! I’m excited to hear your answer.
Cheers,
Deborah
PS. Not sure why I left Instagram in the first place? Short answer: ~politics~. Long answer: watch the reel I pinned to my profile.
PPS. I’ve been working away in the background to get the Proofreading Checklist ready for you, and I’ve got a writing advice article almost ready. Next week, fingers crossed.
📚 What I’m reading
Last week I asked you to help me choose my next book to read. Approximately 0.3 seconds after hitting “send” on that email, I remembered that one of you recently recommended The Outrun, by Amy Liptrot (thank you!). The library’s Borrow Box app had the ebook, so that’s my current read. Loving it so far!
So, Thirty Below by Cassidy Randall is up next – thanks for the votes!
