Kia ora,
I don’t know about you, but I am hanging out for the Christmas break. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve had a great year editing a lot of fantastic manuscripts for wonderful authors, but summer is here and the beach is calling.
Wherever you are in the world, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, I hope you get to have a bit of a break at least. Even if it’s just the stat days.
Have fun reading, have fun writing, have fun eating great food and hanging out with friends and family. That’s my plan!
This is my last newsletter for 2025. Thank you for sticking with me this year! I only started the Write the Adventure newsletter this year, and I’ve had a lot of fun! Thank you for all the replies and conversations, book recommendations, and updates. Here’s to another year of adventures (and writing about them)!
I’ll see you sometime in January 2026.
Take care,
Deborah
PS. Did you catch my blog post last week? Busting editing myths. I talk about six myths some people have about editing and I explain what the reality is.
📚 What I’m reading
I was reading Beyond the trees: a journey alone across Canada’s Arctic, by Adam Shoalts. But I’ll be honest: Something about this story wasn’t clicking for me so I’ve put it down.
Instead, I’ve picked up Robert Macfarlane’s The old ways: a journey on foot. Also not sure if I’m feeling this one. Tune in in January to find out if I stuck with it!
